How-to: Convert YouTube Videos for Presentations

How to download and convert a YouTube Video for use in a Presentation

You have found a YouTube Video that you would like to show your class or use with a presentation using software like PowerPoint or Keynote. So what should you do?

You should consider downloading the YouTube Video so that you have a local copy to view anytime, anywhere without an Internet connection or to use in a presentation.

The easiest way to do this is to use conversion software.

You can research your options and read reviews or you can go ahead and use YTD

(YouTube Downloader).

If you need to download the software, go to the website http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com/ and download the application. Use the free download. Be sure to download the correct version for the computer on which you are working as there is a version for a PC user and a different version for a Mac user.

Once you have the software up and running you should enter the URL of the YouTube you wish to use. Click download.

Save it to your desktop or network folder/

Click on the Convert button and save your video to a lower level resolution (MP4)

(Mac Users: Keynote accepts all QuickTime formats, so select QuickTime (.MOV) as your output format for your YouTube video to keynote presentation)
